I am multifarious.
This is my personal blog. I am a writer, designer, artist and a web geek. Just a girl in a web 2.0 world.
In a past life, I was a real estate professional. Still have my license and know the best agents around Sacramento. I’ve gone through some big life changes; jumped over the 50 milestone, became an empty-nester, and decided to do something different with my life so I began attending classes at the local college in Art New Media. I’ve been designing websites for about 10 years and my specialty is wordpress customized design. Since I am self-taught, I wanted to take design classes to learn the fundamentals and procure skills. I wanted to be a real designer! Earlier in my life, I didn’t have these opportunities.
I’m digging it!
This blog is my indulgence. It’s a little bit of everything that is part of my life. My thoughts.
Focus: Courage, confidence and creativity without compromise.
People who in spite of fear, allow their true selves to shine though are my heroes. It takes courage to open up and lay yourself out there; to be first to admit what you really think. There lies the connection and the purpose. To reach someone who needs it. You have to be vulnerable in order to be truly authentic and meaningful. To take down the facade. We are so accustomed to wearing a mask. Told to fit in.
I’m human, and flawed. Emotionally driven. Empathetic and sensitive; a nurturer by nature ( I live from my heart) and quite eccentric. I’m too quirky to fit in a box. Maybe you can relate. I hope so. I’m also way too temperamental to miss a good rant now and then. There’s the sassy, smart a$$ side of my personality, prone to snarky remarks, so be warned. I’ve been known to laugh and cry at the same time. Bwahahahaha! I have a sense of humor and strong opinions, but I am always willing to look at all sides and be open to new ideas and perspectives.
I am a Libra, in every way and I like it.
I am in love with TED. I love stories of courage and inspiration.
Although, I strive for self improvement, expect some contradictions. It’s all a process. The destination is the journey, you know.
Spirituality is also very important and one of the ways I cope with life on this planet. I have faith in God and believe that we have angels and guides who watch over us. Often when I’m writing about a topic, it’s like my higher self is calming my ego. That ego, can be a real bitch sometimes. Transcendental Meditation techniques work wonders. I will post meditations and write about spirituality.
Sometimes there will be topics of Art/Design or even tutorials I’ve found helpful. I post the tutorials here so I can find them easy. It doesn’t matter how much I do. I still need my resources. The links page is filled and I keep adding to it.
This is my place to write and sometimes vent. It’s for my pleasure and you are invited to join me here. You don’t have to agree with my opinions, all I ask is that you allow me to have them. Be nice.
I do my own thing; always have.
If I care too much about what other people think then I’ll stagnate. Part of me does care and part of me says, just do it. Jump off the high dive.
I write because I need to. This is a platform for that. We’re all in this world together and nobody is perfect. I want to be a doer and that means do it. Getting subscribers isn’t my goal but I do like to meet new people and make friends. If you’re already one of my friends who has discovered that I have a blog….. well, hello there! You already know me. Did I do well on the description thingy?
Browsing through some of the videos that I’ve loved and posted here, or reading something I wrote awhile ago and seeing how I’ve grown past old fears keeps me entertained. This is my journey to a better me. It’s good therapy.
Oh how I can relate to this video! I admire people who just get out there and “DO.”
My hero is Walt Disney and I adopted his mantra many years ago. Always move forward. One step at a time, one foot in front of the other. I move forward.
Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance. Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their PASSION. -Martha Graham
